Aren’t these velvet pumpkins just so posh? I love that the pumpkins just don’t come in the typical orange but also in aqua, watermelon, rich red and pea green!

Tablescape Friday: Henrietta’s Table

When I was deciding between photographers for my wedding this is the wedding that sold me on choosing Lisa Rigby Photography.  I love love love how fresh, organic and non-fussy the table is set.

My favorite weddings seem to be ones set in restaurants.  The best part of this is is that Henrietta’s Table is right up the street from us!

After yesterday’s post on Sunday Suppers’ trip to Paris and today’s French Inspired Menus & Invitations by Cynthia Warren, I’m really in the mood to pack my bags and get on a plane to a far away place.

Is anyone planning a wedding inspired by a beautiful place?

U.S., England, Ireland & Spain…Our Save the Dates Take Flight!

The Save the Date dilemma is over! Hooray!!

Of course you remember my incessant indecision, here and here regarding our save the dates.

After pulling my hair out over which “look” to go for, I finally came to and realized that most people who will receive these won’t think twice about them.  Our guests won’t care if they match the style of wedding we were going for or if they were the coolest piece of mail that they have ever received.  Why spend another few weeks mulling over them?

With that, I went online and ordered our save the dates!   We decided to go with the Wedding Paper Divas “Park Bench” style.  It was fun, non-DIY and completely us.

I was so excited when I received our STD’s in the mail.  Everything was perfect! It was much less “peachy” in person and more of a cream color which is what I was exactly looking for. Great job, Wedding Paper Divas!

This Sunday afternoon I spent putting together our guest list and addressing the save the dates. Here I am with our little delights!

I’m thrilled to have them all finished and ready to be mailed out to our guests!

I don’t want to even think about when it’s time to pick out invitations!

Did anyone else jump off the DIY ship and let the professionals do what they do best?

Sunday Sweets! Baked Pear Dumplings

I just adore the presentation of this dessert.  It would make a perfect statement for any dinner party or event.  For a sophisticated fall dessert think about using fresh pears, dried apricots or even freshly ground cardamom.

“With every big decision along wedding lane, there is a small death. The end of possibilities.”

Back in June I read the most honest wedding post.  Eric over at beaucoup tells the story of how the search for his fiance’s wedding dress turned out to be more than a search for a wedding dress but a lesson about decisions.

Isn’t this the truth?  You think that wedding planning will be all fun all the time but when you least expect it, indecision, regret or frustration hits you.  It doesn’t seem fun anymore, it’s all too overwhelming.

Could this feeling be just because of stationary or flower petals? I think not.  As Eric so eloquently stated, “because this wasn’t actually about the dress. It was about loss. With every big decision along wedding lane, there is a small death. The end of possibilities.”
