Real Wedding: Globe

One of the first things I thought when I saw this wedding over at Style Me Pretty was…”I gotta have it.”  I love the colors, the simplicity, the aura of Lindsay and Nick’s Wedding.

When people ask me why I’m having my wedding reception in a restaurant all I have to point them to is this wedding

Erin Beach describes the day, “This wedding was very simple but Natasha, of Waterlily Pond, helped make it elegant and completely unique. The 10 minute ceremony was held at the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, so minimal decor was needed for that space. They had none of the usual wedding rituals, no cake or first dance. The couple just wanted a small dinner (50 guests) to celebrate. They rented out the uber-urban Globe restaurant in downtown San Francisco where the two are regulars.”

This is EXACTLY what I am looking for in my wedding day.

Tilt Shift Maker- The Coolest Photography Tool!

During my daily scout on Apartment Therapy, I found a link to Tilt Shift Maker.

What is Tilt Shift Photos, you say?
Tilt-shift miniature style photos are pictures of real-life scenes that are manipulated to look like model photographs.

For those of us that are not professional photographers, this tool is just amazing!

Just take a look at how it can transform photos.

These photos (especially the last one) really take me back to my childhood and remind me of the days of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood. Anyone else?

Imagine the photos of your wedding and what cool images you can create! The key is to use landscape & aerial shots.  They make the biggest impact.

I recently spoke with Brea McDonald of Nantucket Weddings Unveiled.  She told me about this new site with the concept of connecting Brides who are planning a Nantucket Wedding.  Here you will get advice from the pros and see the amazing talent Nantucket has to offer.  Each vendor has a unique knowledge and connection to this gorgeous Wedding Destination.  Brides can use Nantucket Weddings Unveiled to draw on to make their wedding extra special.

Currently they are working on creating a community where Nantucket brides can share tips, planning ideas and pitfalls to advice with each other.

Brea says, “Planning a destination wedding (particularly on an island) poses its own unique challenges and we find Nantucket brides love to share their ideas and our hope is this site will be the place for that.”
Not only do they have a great blog but they understand the importance of social media and are apart of Twitter and Facebook.  They will be using these methods as a way to update everyone on news, posts and sharing tips and questions.  What bride isn’t using all these resources?

For all of those Boston Brides looking for a beautiful destination wedding that’s a little closer to home, wouldn’t Nantucket be just perfect?

Thank you, Brea for sharing!  Stay tuned for a feature on Brea McDonald Photography!

Elizabeth Anne Designs Feature: Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

Do I like making decisions? No.  Are there are a lot of decisions to be made when planning a wedding? Yes.

This creates quite a conundrum, doesn’t it?

First there’s the location, the venue and ceremony site, the guest list, the dress, the shoes, the entertainment, transportation and on and on and on.

Luckily for us, we got engaged with plenty of time to think about things involved in wedding planning.  The first few months we took it slow and enjoyed being engaged.  All of a sudden, time has creep up on us and we really need to set the wheels in motion.

Like many people, I’ve thought about my wedding day and how I want it to look and how I want it to feel for a very very long time. Kick in my love of creativity and design, it really makes the process extra hard.

So what am I going to do?  Since it is Memorial Day, I’m taking the weekend off.  I’m going to clear my head, not think about my wedding and spend the day in the sun!  I’ll come back with an open mind, clear focus and ready to take on the task at hand.

I do have one decision to share with you today.  My Wedding Dress Accessory I wrote about last week, here!

Thank you everyone who contributed in helping me decide!  And without further ado…

Here is it {probably}! …until 1.) I buy the wrap or 2.) find something else to mull over

Do you find yourself not being able to pull the so called wedding trigger?
